someone else's take on the textile forum

One of my fellow medieval textile enthusiasts has posted her "I'm home" blog, with some photos from the week in Eindhoven. Here is one of all of us

all of us

and another from the blog of the event organizer which shows the funny hat I made (nålbinding) and finally finished on-site.

Great group shot - what are you wearing? I don't recognise the white underdress. Is it just an *actual* underdress because of the heat or something new?

That is the white silk-linen underdress I made when in Tassie, so you must have seen me wearing it. It has a silk warp and a linen weft. I stitched it using very tiny stitches, using threads unravelled from the fabric. Where the stitching parallels the silk, I used the silk thread, and where it parallels the linen I used the linen thread. I'm very fond of this one. But I'm thinking of re-doing the sleeves--they are rather lose in the upper arm, which is fine for when wearing a loose sleeved over tunic, but the tunics I've been making lately are much more fitted, so if I wear it with them the white sleeves poof when they get past the narrow sleeves of the overtunic and it looks silly. Or, I could just make a whole new white underdress with narrower sleeves, I suppose.
