Ah, but it is precisely that I have lived so many years of my life in places which didn't have snow in December (Italy, Australia, California, Arizona, Texas, Crete, Japan adds up to more than 18 years without, not counting another 6.5 years in places where it sometimes snows in winter, but not reliably) that makes me value it so very much.
