It would be nice if the pine beetle would stop at decimation. Alas, those little critters like to munch on far, far more than one tree in 10 :-( They are even stupider than humans with their behavior of destroying their habitat--they are doing it much faster, and more completely than we do, and they are starting with a much narrower comfort zone than we've got.
