Museum sounds wonderful! I think maybe I like 13th-14th C artwork the best. I have the Wilton Diptych framed on my loungeroom wall now, and love that. All blue and gold. It's religious of course, but I don't take too much notice of that aspect. A woman with a baby is just a woman with a baby, after all. But then I don't think I've seen too much art from earlier than 12thC. We didn't see any museums in Europe, except Ballenburg, which is kind of like a grand scale museum, and Burgdorf Castle, near Biembach, which was 12thC. It was fair, but not amazing. No art-work - indeed, the whole place was just an empty shell, which I found disappointing.
